California trip 2006

Can vacation get any better then getting out of the northeast during the winter and heading to LA for a week? The answer is flatly no way! Jen and dan served as host for our trip tot he left coast and great hosts they were. As you can tell from the pictures we didn't stay still. First was a visit to the Reagan Library. The kids were thrilled(yea right)as you can tell from one of the picture. But as they listened and read about Reagan they were genuinely interested. The next day was of course golf. The first golf picture are of the most played public course in the united states. Can you believe $30.00 for 18 hole on the pacific. Well this course is has the best location of any muni I have ever seen. Dan said he had to call at 5am to get the tee time. Dan Jon and I really appreciate the effort. The picture of Jon on the Harley were taken on the trip to the golf course. it was Jon first real ride on a hog and needless to say he was thrilled.

This was a quick trip to meet my old college buddy kevin and his wife in the windy city. What a great city to visit. Great food and shopping and really safe and clean. We were there over the Halloween weekend which is a huge event in Chicago. I posted these pics of a fountain in Daily plaza which is filled with orange water for the holiday. It was really something to see. As you can tell from the other pics it was really windy at the Navy Pier. Ever get a chance to get Chicago take it. They have this huge "stainless steel kidney bean" which creates some cool reflections. Its just opened the week before we were there. Now for the triva question, why is chicago know as the windy city? Post your guess in a comment.

Lindsay's Soccer Team Wins u10 Division 10-1

After years of average teams, Ludlow finally smartened up and placed all their A players one team to compete in the U 10 division of LPVJS. Lindsay was selected to the A team at the beginning of the fall season and played with some fantastic girls. Her position was mostly defense. Few if an opponents were able to get past her during the year. If funny to see such a calm level minded girl turn viscous competitor on the field. The team played with a level of unity that was a joy to watch. Unselfish and intelligent play was the order of the day. Never heard was a comment disparaging a teammate. They were all a joy to watch progress throughout the season

TPC boston with College Buddies and Professor

Who would have believed that I would not only get the chance to play the tpc Boston but also get to play one of my college professors and a fraternity brother I haven't seen n more then 20 years. Well it happened last Friday. After some planning for more then a month my old friend Mitch Rochelle from NYC coordinated the trip. Our professor from Bentley Aaron Nurick joined us to catch us up on our almamater. Seems things have changed greatly since our graduation in the early 80's but our friend Aaron has changed little. He is still just one of the nicest guys a college undergrad could hope to meet and if lucky can have Aaron help guide you through the hard and good times that we all faced in college. I know I was glad to have him not only as a resource when I was there but he was also there for my nephew Dave some 10 years later. Thanks Aaron. Next in the 4some was my big brother from ZBT mark davidson. I hadn't seen mark in over 20 years. Whets odd about old relationships is how they seem to resume right where they ended. Mark is still the outgoing guy I new in 1979. He was able to guide me into ZBT and was a fine example for me to follow. I was lucky to count him as friend then as I do today. Lastly is my old friend Mitch. Now Mitch has invited me to 2 of the finest country clubs in new England and I still cant figure out why! I do know I truly appreciate his friendship over the years and am glad we have remained friends. Thanks Mitch

Jen and Dans Wedding Day

Yes we all thought the day would never happen but it did!! The last of Jon and Dee's daughters has been married off. The weekend affair was held on the north shore of the island near Port Jeff at a place called the Three Village Inn. The atmosphere was completely New England. The place was very colonial and cozy. Family and friends were traveling in from all over the US and overseas. The farthest attendee I spoke to had just flown in from Germany. This wedding had the feel of what jen and den were looking for in their big day. Very cozy and low key affair. The weather of course was truly a pest but it made us all concentrate on being together with family and friends. At first I felt the rain and damp weather was going to ruin the weather but is actually encouraged us all to stay close hotel and relax with all the friends who were in attendance. Seeing the family come together from north south east and west was terrific. Dans family of course were traveling some of the longest distances coming in from the great western state of Wyoming and one of his sister trekking back from Ireland for the party. Meeting them was certainly cool for us all. Dans family knew as much about NYC as we all knew of Wyoming. We all found his family much like Dan, thoughtful introspective supportive and accepting of the their new found relatives. Dans mom and dad were gracious in speaking of how they are looking forward to their new daughter in law. We all know that Jen will fit in just fine. I'm sure Dan's family will find Jen just as we know her, gentle, tender, loving, emotional, caring, devoted and fun loving. Needless to say I have been in love with Jen from first time I met her. God a long time ago now, over 20 years. Some of you may know the "vibe" people can send and receive form oneanother. I still have that feeling in my mind she gave me, her caring goodwilled nature. She melts my heart when she reffers to me as her brother. How we all now envy Dan that he now has such a fantastic partner for the rest of his life. The best is yet to come as we all know. Their children will think they have hit the parent lottery with the bonus ball. Watching them over the coming years will be a treat for us all...
